Q) Are dogs mixed at anytime during their stay in the kennels?
A) We never mix dogs throughout their stay. Dogs that live together are kept together at all times All our boarders have interaction through the fencing and are next to each other in the individual outside runs
Q) Do the kennels have heating during the winter?
A) All our kennels have heating lamps
Q) Are the kennels totally secure?
A) We have double perimeter fencing around the kennels and an alarm and cctv in place The kennels are never left unattended and I live on the premises
Q) Do the dogs go for a walk?
A) We do not take any of the dogs off the premises Instead we have six large outdoor play areas where the dogs go outside at least three times a day weather permitting
Q) Do you provide a grooming service?
A) No. This service is no longer provided at Happyhounds
Q) Do you provide a collection/delivery service?
A) No we don’t. We feel, and recommend, that most owners should and like to see where their dogs will be staying
Q) Can we come and have a look round before we book?
A) We would be delighted to show your around the premises Inspection times are between 2pm and 4pm – seven days a week
Q) Do you provide any other services?
A) Yes we do. Please look at the Other services page on the website
Q) What do I need to bring with me for my pets stay?
A) The most important item is the vaccination records. These must include their up to date booster including kennel cough. In addition a piece of clothing or personal toy that contains the owners scent also helps your pet settle. We do provide bedding and bowls.
Q) Can I bring our own food?
A) Yes – of course. Very helpful and essential if your pet has a sensitive tummy.
Q) Do you take dogs of all ages?
A) There is no upper age limit however we do not take puppies under sixteen weeks old.
Q) Is there a vet on call should my dog take sick while at Happyhounds?
A) Yes – We would immediately contact our vet should your dogs health cause us any concern. If necessary we would either call the vet out or take the dog down to the vets as quickly as possible. Our number one priority at all times is the dogs health, safety and security.
Q) Do you take dogs on medication?
A) We do take and administer drugs to dogs on medication. We would require written instructions for the administration of the medication. We do not take diabetic dogs
