“A pure treat for our Scottie and total piece of mind for us. If there was ever a five star Deluxe kennels for Pooches at Happy Hounds ticks all the boxes. We have been using Happy Hounds for the last 4 years and we drive 40 km. There are a lot of kennels closer to us but our dog only comes back happy when staying with Kay”.

“We have boarded our dogs at Happyhounds for the past 4 to 5 years. Having assessed other establishments we have always been impressed by the level of hygiene, health and safety observed there. We are confident in leaving all three of our dogs in their care. We know they will get all the individual attention that they need in terms of their health and well being, and we get the peace of mind we need on our travels. Apart, of course, from being excellent carers, Kay and Nick are ‘doggie people’ and to us that is just as important”.

Dear Auntie Kay, Its me, Baggio, dropping you a note to say thanks for minding me when Mary and Finbarr go away. They think that I don’t know I am going to stay with you but I know it when they turn down the road at Skryne. I am very happy to stay with you because you look after me so well and you know how to play ball. As you know I was named after a famous footballer due to my ball skills or lack of them – ( I had a visit to the vet once.) I have organised with Mary and Finbarr to book in again in June for a short stay and I am looking forward to seeing you all. It is a pity they do not go away more often, but I suppose someone has to pay for my lifes little pleasures.Say hello to Dudley and tell him I will see him soon.

When we go on holidays, our dog does too. Lady ( by name and by nature ) our cocker spaniel goes to pay a visit to her boyfriend Dudley, who treats her with gentlemanly care as all good dogs should. We, on the other hand, go away on our break knowing that Lady is well looked after and not just by Dudley. Kay and Nick are her second family. We know that because it’s the second place on earth, after our own home, where she will leap out of the car and run towards. It is home from home for her and we could not recommend it highly enough. We tried other boarding kennels previously but we could not begin to compare them to Happyhounds.

Going away on holidays or for weekends was always a worry for us and we wanted our King Charles Cavalier, Molly, to be well looked after. Having used other kennels in our area we found Molly came back to us distressed and would take a few days to return to her normal self. Happyhounds have changed that experience for us. Kay provides a welcoming, friendly, well run service that gives the dogs the attention they require during a boarding stay. We even enjoy bringing our 18 month old daughter to collect Molly as she can visit Shrek and Fiona, the resident donkeys at Happyhounds. I would recommend Happyhounds to any prospective boarders and Molly also rates it as a tail wagging experience.

Ben is a Shar-Pei and does not take to everyone but loves going to Kay’s and when he arrives his reaction tells you he’s in his second home. I would not go away if Kay could not take Ben, as I wouldn’t leave him anywhere else but at Happy Hounds. I would recommend Kay to everyone I know as I know that Kay and Nick love Ben as much as we do and the name says it all Ben arrives happy and leaves happy.

Molly our 7-year-old Springer Spaniel had never been in kennels prior to our move from the UK to Dublin in October 2007. Relatives or close trusted friends had always looked her after. As you can imagine we were very apprehensive about finding a home for her while we were away on holidays. Luckily we were recommended Happy Hounds and Kay and her wonderful staff who clearly love their jobs and the dogs who attend the kennels. Molly is always pleased to see them all again and to date she has stayed at Happy Hounds on five occasions – the last visit for a three-week period. We chose Happy Hounds for its space, the great staff and more importantly, the fact that Molly always returns home happy, contented and most importantly healthy – we know she has been well cared for and it shows!

Hi Kay we would like to thank you very much for looking after Belle and Millie so well over the Easter. We had looked at a number of kennels but none of them displayed the personnal touch and care you do. Millie and Belle reacted to you as if you were friends for years the moment they met you and they know people better than people know themselves. We have no hesitation to recommend Happyhounds to anyone needing boarding kennel facilities. All the best.
